When you think of 3 girls who just started high school, you imagine them hanging out at Starbucks or at the mall, but not the members of Laceless. They are writing original music and lyrics in their 3 piece band. Gretchen Calder (guitar/vocals) became acquainted with Gabby Garcia (bass/vocals) who was perched in a magnolia tree in her backyard. Since that time (at ages 5 and 6) they have been very close friends with just a backyard fence as their thoroughfare. Growing up together and attending ballet and tap classes, they found themselves in middle school show choirs. While preparing for a pop show performance, Gretchen reached out to choir pal Mackenzie Mahay (drums/vocals) to perform Journey’s, “Don’t Stop Believing”. The Laceless challenge number one was set. Never before performing together as a band, it was evident there was a spark. Since then the three are inseparable and the energy created between them is infectious.
